Arlen Meyers, MD, MBA, is a Professor Emeritus of Otolaryngology, Dentistry, and Engineering at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and the Colorado School of Public Health. As the President and CEO of the Society of Physician Entrepreneurs (SoPE), he leads a global non-profit biomedical innovation network dedicated to helping practitioners transition their ideas from concept to patient care. His career is defined by the intersection of clinical practice and technical innovation, specifically regarding the commercialization of life science technologies and biomedical entrepreneurship. Having founded several medical device and digital health companies, he applies the practical lessons learned from the full venture lifecycle to his primary research and global consultancy. He advises governments, corporations, and academic institutions on healthcare IT, medical tourism, and the financing of new ventures. His academic pedigree includes a Harvard-Macy fellowship and a Fulbright at King’s College London focused on technology transfer. An influential voice in the industry, he serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Medscape Reference: Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and is an associate editor for the Journal of Commercial Biotechnology.
